In 2016, the Assemblies of God surveyed 6,800 credentialed ministers regarding the state of their finances. One of the survey’s findings was that many AG ministers are not prepared for retirement. Twenty-seven percent had no retirement savings at all. Of the 73 percent with some retirement savings, 50 percent had less than $65,000.
Additionally, the survey revealed that 33 percent of AG ministers had no personal savings at all. For those with non-retirement savings, 50 percent had less than $2,000. Faced with a major financial crisis, these ministers would have no way to meet it.
